Fieldwork in Astipalae island in Greece to track Amorgos Tsunami (1956) which is the largest in Mediterranean Sea over the moderne period. Waves reach 30m of elevation!
We sample Sediment cores in Vathy Bay and on land to find onshore and offshore tsunami deposits.

Our last publication in PNAS :
Agropastoral activity responsable for soil erosion and degradation in the Alps for the past 3800 years.

We reconstruct 10 000 y of soil evolution using sediment from Lake le Bourget àd the Lithium isotopes signature.

Our latest article on C sequestration over the past 150 years in Lake Aiguebelette show that C sequestration increased over the past 150 years due to local human disturbances. Even last decades, despite reduced nutrient loads following restoration.

Tsunami in Lake du Bourget 200 years ago!!
Our paper investigate the 1822 earthquake and resulting tsunami with a maximum wave of 2.5m and seiche for 4 days!
This numerical model allow us to propose the mecanism at the origin of Homogenite

This is by far the best modelling attempt of the Alpine Ice Field during the LGM (35-18 ka)! 🧊⌚

Thinner ice than previous attempts and better fit to the trimlines ❄️
