Sigmund Freud would be having a posthumous field day as the rule of law in the USA is perverted by the psycho-sexual hang-ups of Trump over Obama and of Roberts over the presidency.

I wonder what odds might be offered for betting that Elon Musk will be bankrupt before ever becoming a trillionaire. Most people who get and stay ultra-rich are at least moderately sensible, even if immoderately loathsome.

The dumbest - and funniest - mistake of Republicans is telling themselves that their election results would have been better with Trump on the ballot. Shades of Biden-loyalty mania by 2023 Democrats. Trump is a spent force: he spent it.

Is there any respect in which the USA would be worse off today with Homer Simpson as its president instead of his more ignorant psychological twin?

Senator Blumenthal on MSNBC said - and then repeated - that Trump is raising $350 billion (not million) for his ballroom, dwarfing the monthly cost of SNAP at $8 billion. The three panelists let this dumb misstatement pass without correction. No wonder people have lost trust in talking heads.

If Bannon's "plan" for Trump to serve a third term as POTUS is to run as VP to Vance who would promptly resign in his favor, the problem will be twofold: 1) a Vance/Trump ticket would not win in 2028 anyway, and 2) even if successful, Vance would never honor a promise to give away the presidency.

The next Democrat POTUS can turn the White House "ball room" into a museum of presidential history, showcasing the countless offenses against decency and constitutional order of 45/47 and his lackeys. Unfortunately it may not be large enough.

Heard from a No Kings demonstrator today: "We love America, we hate who's in office". Lady, your beloved America put the bastard in office, despite every opportunity to know what he is. The excuse of being shocked at the change from POTUS 45 to 47 is as dishonest as Trump himself.
October 19, 2025 at 7:40 AM
Republican zealotry has become mass hysteria. If any decent apple remains in that rotten barrel, the 'No Kings' protest is surely the last chance to clear out. Principled conservatism can return to American politics, but not under the white sheet of Republican loyalty.

Am I the only person waiting for an explanation from anyone crediting Trump for the Gaza "peace deal" as to why whatever pressure he has applied to Netanyahu and Hamas recently could not have been exerted to the same result much earlier?

Given the rage of many Trump voters against pedophiles, has the human Agent Orange asked himself how many of the fellow-prisoners of Ghislaine Maxwell - that she was moved away from for her protection - are MAGA supporters?

When Pam Bondi says "There is no client list", meaning only that Epstein didn't make (or need) an itemized list, the next question should be "But were there documented clients and if so can you please list them?"

Hegseth's speech was as over-rehearsed as it was ill-considered. "Warrior ethos" can become a two-edged sword if troops ordered to shoot citizens turn around and shoot the person giving the order. That is how dictatorship dies.

There can be no doubt that Miles Taylor is giving voice to the best of America today. The question is whether or not America is still great enough to take up his clarion call for defiance.

Charlamagne tha God is right about Biden's legacy being trash, because it is mainly Trump again. But Biden's pre-presidency was also trash, which is why his previous bids for the nomination failed. Sentimentality over long careers is one of the Democrats besetting problems.

250 years ago the British monarchy tried to thwart the moral promise of America, but failed. In 2025 it has tried to betray the USA's moral purpose, and succeeded. I am ashamed to be a subject of the ethically supine Charles III. The next Democrat POTUS should refuse the "honour" of a state visit.

FCC chair Brendan Carr said "We're going back to that era when local TV stations ... get to decide what the American people think". Has a more grotesquely warped statement ever been made by such an office-holder before now?

Surely it's just a matter of time before AI learns how to control, aim and shoot firearms. Then an IT-savvy assassin will be able to set up a "hit" and get out of the country before the murder takes place. Let's hope Patel is no longer in charge of the FBI by then.

The world is made worse today by the way Charlie Kirk died. It was bad already by the way he lived, and how he chose to exert his influence on young people. Sadly many of them witnessed his murder. Sadly many had turned up to hear him speak.

How would John Roberts respond if a significant number of appeals and district court judges warned SCOTUS publicly not to favour POTUS against legal precedents? If he can tolerate a disobedient and rabid executive putsch, why should the judiciary respect him?
August 28, 2025 at 12:57 AM
History will never understand why the American people are tolerating a vicious and feral ignoramus at the head of the nation. A POTUS doesn't own the USA for 4 years, but you the people do always. The Filipino population showed how to force a corrupt menace from power. Has this been forgotten?

Trump called Bolton "A kind of low-life" - for once he's telling the truth. Anyone who served in the first Trump administration deserves the same. It was obvious before they accepted appointments that the USA would be much better off with a total failure of Trump, not "adults in the room" with him.

Trump saying of Putin "I think he wants to make a deal for me" indicates that Putin said to him "I want to help you win the Nobel Peace Prize". And of course Putin was the second-most practiced liar in the room, bidding to equal the petulant ignoramus who hosted him.
August 19, 2025 at 10:11 AM
Why doesn't the Nobel Peace Prize commitee (or whatever body awards it) announce that it will never go to anyone who supports ending a conflict by ceding conquered territory?
August 16, 2025 at 10:13 PM
If Putin had a superpower to destroy the moral credibility of the free world, he could have done no more harm than to empower Netanyahu and Trump. G7 leaders have tolerated sanctimonious jingoism from BB and bent knees to thuggish ignorance from DJT until they are now little better themselves.
