<15 ppb of diggity, <1.3 ppm of doubt. This represents levels of both diggity and doubt less than what is considered harmful, per the EPA's 1991 Diggity and Doubt Rule. The maximum contaminant level goal (MCLG) for both diggity and doubt remains zero.

Paul Thomas Anderson is so cool. Imagine being so horny for your art teacher in high school that decades later you end up best friends with her daughters.

If you take anything away from my post, I hope it's this:
I will scream this until my lungs collapse: Trans people aren’t the problem. Immigrants and refugees aren’t the problem. Progressives aren’t the problem.

The problem is that the majority of Americans can’t afford a $1000 emergency expense. The problem is that most of our paycheck goes to rent and if we have appendicitis, we call an Uber instead of an ambulance. The problem is that we have leaders who see us, the voters, as abstract concepts and not as individuals with our own lives, families, traumas, passions, and priorities. We are all somebody’s child but when representatives forget that, when they start to only view their district from the window of their Capitol office, we become ants. Our votes become numbers in a game. And our struggles become hindrances to our representative’s job security.

Removal from reality is most often an accident. It’s just a common side effect of our political culture. Congress should be a job like any other, but the pomp and circumstance gives our elected officials an excuse to detach. The ones who haven’t fallen into that trap have only managed to do so through purposeful planning and frequent trips home. They treat empathy like a muscle, flexing it as often as possible to ward off apathy. But this should be the norm, not the exception. If not for moral reasons, then for strategic ones.
