Today is @jayohday.bsky.social’s birthday, a milestone one.

Two truths and a lie for the occasion:

-She is an aspiring rapper
-She ate 35 cheese curds at one sitting
-She has posed as The Man of Steel while on assignment

Which is the lie?

Let Jay know what you think.

Legal sports betting turns other sports into pro wrestling. Still entertaining, but the action is an inside joke among the participants. #PropBetting

Today is @greggpalermo.bsky.social’s birthday. At a time when many of us fret about the state of journalism, Gregg and his Spectrum colleagues are producing timely, reliable local news. You should be following him, especially today.

Not wading back into yesterday's netiquette seminar, but if I may offer what might be a piece of helpful advice?

If you post something that gets more than five idiotic responses from people who don't follow you, turn off replies except to followers, and turn off quote skeeting.

I haven’t noted a birthday in a bit. Today, though, is the birthday of two very different influentials: Chuck “Scalpel” Hatfield and Brian “Cudgel” Wahby. Together, they hold down both ends of civic suasion. Wish them each a very happy day.

I think TV, a visual medium, works best with familiar faces. Losing Rene Knott and John Pertzborn is disappointing. I wish them both well.

The only explanation I can think of for why the local newspaper says its future is digital but makes the digital experience so awful is that no one in charge plans to be here much longer.

I am kinda agnostic on a city manager, but I would love to see a public librarian running the whole city for a year.
