Was delighted to attend the launch of this great piece of research from @publiclawproject.bsky.social and CELC yesterday. Sanctions are disproprtionate and madly unfair. They cause destituiton, homelessness and ill health. The regime must be ended rather than extended to include more people.

Kicking us off this afternoon at #PLPConf25: a panel on Public law and progress, chaired by PLP chair, Jonathan Senker with speakers: Ravi Mehta (Blackstone Chambers), Christine Iacono (Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer), Jess McQuail (Just Fair) and Nick Davies (Institute for Government).
Today at the @publiclawproject.bsky.social event, our Director Jess McQuail is joining a panel to discuss how rights-based approaches can tackle the UK’s deepening inequality and poverty.

The evidence, including from Just Fair’s work, is clear: the current system is failing those most in need.
