🦠 The Covid-19 Inquiry’s call to commence the socio-economic duty is a vital step toward protecting those most at risk and progressing health equity.

We have long championed this, co-leading the 1ForEquality campaign. It’s time decision-making in the UK finally reflects the dignity we all deserve.
The Chair of the UK Covid Inquiry, Baroness Hallett has made a statement on her findings and recommendations.

🧑‍🔧 We are proud members of the Lift the Ban Coalition.

We support this statement on the working rights’ implications of newly announced asylum 'reforms'

People seeking safety must have the right to work without being pushed into poverty or destitution.

This long-overdue step will make a real difference in tackling poverty and restoring fairness to the social security system.

The UK must now go further and protect economic, social and cultural rights in law, so that no government can ever again introduce policies that push people into hardship.
Good riddance to rubbish policy.

The end to the UK's "two child limit" social security policy has been announced, and it will soon be gone.

We @hrw.org welcome the news, as one of many, many, many voices calling for an end to this arbitrary, cruel social security policy.

🧒🧒 Just Fair welcomes the end of the cruel two-child limit - a crucial step toward fairness we have long called for.

No child’s rights to food, housing or a decent life should ever be capped by policy. Now the UK must protect these rights in law.

🌊 Everyone deserves safety, dignity and support. Making protection temporary and removing basic rights will push people seeking refuge into poverty and harm.

The UK must choose a path rooted in human rights, not division.

Everyone has the right to a safe and decent home, access to good work, and support in times of need. Human rights belong to everyone. Making refugee protection temporary, restricting appeals, and withdrawing guaranteed housing and financial support will push people seeking safety into poverty, homelessness, and ill-health. The UK Government’s priorities should be tackling […]

The two-child limit breachs the UK’s obligations under international law, including every child’s right to social security, to food, and to an adequate standard of living.

It needs to be scrapped now.
A child poverty strategy with the 2-child limit in place would *not* be a credible child poverty strategy. *All* of the growth in child poverty since the 2011/12 low point is for children in scope of this policy.

👩 Today we mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

Ending violence means more than protection. It requires securing women’s economic, social and cultural rights so they can live free from fear, with real choices, safety, and dignity.

🥘 The Right to Food Commission launched this week, putting the human right to food back on the agenda. Hunger in the UK isn’t inevitable. -

The Commission’s work offers a real chance to push for a future where everyone can afford nutritious, adequate food as a right.
Putting human rights on the table: launch of the Right to Food Commission | Just Fair
Today, the UK Right to Food Commission launches in Parliament- a landmark step to put the human right to food back on the national agenda. After years of austerity, millions now rely on food banks and emergency aid. What should have been a temporary crisis response has become routine. Hunger is not inevitable – it […]

🧒 Today is World Children’s Day. Every child has the right to grow up safe, healthy and free from poverty.

But in the UK, the two-child limit is still denying too many children the support they need and violating their rights.

This #WorldChildrensDay it’s time to scrap the two-child limit.

@elliechowns.bsky.social is right to raise the issue of the Warm Homes Plan.

Habitability is a key component of the right to adequate housing. Housing must be habitable and protect inhabitants from cold, damp, heat, rain & wind.

We need the right to housing recognised in UK law.
Every day, millions of households wake up asking a brutal question: how will I keep my home warm this winter?

The Warm Homes Plan is a real opportunity for the govt to protect vulnerable households from the cold - but only if they avoid repeating past mistakes.

Millions deserve stable, safe homes, not constant insecurity. Housing is a human right, and these reforms must be the start of guaranteeing that right.
