Started reading Life for Sale. My first Yukio Mishima novel is about a man whose suicide attempt fails, quits his job and then advertises his life for sale to anyone for anything at any price. I'm only 3 chapters in but it's amusing. First offer is a guy wanting his wife killed. #booksky
My 8 year old has developed her Jiu-Jitsu game so that whenever she spars with someone, she almost always just lies down and waits. Does she have an amazing guard game to justify this confidence? No. Does she have a competent guard game? Also no. But it doesn't stop her from looking like Nick Diaz.

This book is hilarious. I am not sure I'm supposed to be laughing this much considering all the death in the book.

Arc'teryx was always kind of a luxury brand but 20 yrs ago it was all made in Canada and the gear lasted a decade. And at their outlet sale you could get awesome stuff. The waterproof gloves I bought for $20 are still waterproof 15 yrs later. It's more of a luxury brand now but the quality is worse.

Having lived in Vancouver and the lower mainland for a good 3 decades, and hearing over and over again how overspending makes it a world class city, I just know that a new PNE amphitheatre will finally push us into word class status since the Olympics clearly failed to do so.
I like how the City of Vancouver’s response to the new PNE Amphitheatre being triple the original budget is to say “WORLD CLASS” like the phrase is a magical amulet that excuses any sins

I think we can safely say that the Leavitt's brother called ICE on his ex, the mother of his child, and I have to say: I have no desire to respect, find common ground or share the country with these monsters.
“After Ferreira was detained, Dos Santos Rodrigues said Michael Leavitt Sr. and his father, Bob Leavitt, reached out to her.”

“‘They just kept saying, ‘Tell her to self-deport,’” she recalled. “Self-deport to where? Brazil is not her home.’” www.bostonglobe.com/2025/11/26/m...

One of my favourite bits on Pierre Poilievre is him criticizing Carney for taking all these foreign trips and coming back with nothing except inking new deals.

Did... Did he expect Carney to come back with a bag of money or a caravan of goods? This isn't the 14th century on the Silk Road.
