What's fun about being in a family full of females, is when they bring their friends over who are also female. Right now my wife, daughters and their two best friends are all hanging out downstairs. Even our dog is female. I am always outnumbered.

You know what the kicker is? 36 hrs after finishing the book, the last chapter in this book made me feel ashamed for the emotions I felt, which I then got angry about because I felt weak. All I know is anger, so because all I never healed from the traumatic events of my daughter's birth, I got angry

2025 reading #25: Hemingway's A Farewell to Arms wrecked me. The birth of our first child was hard on my wife and a traumatic event for me. His beautiful writing as Catherine goes into labor matched so many real life beats that I resented him for making me relive those memories. Fuck, man. #booksky

Also, I think most men have some amount of anger issues, including myself. It's what we know. It's what we channel everything into. Fear, pain, sadness turns to anger because anger is strong and acceptable for men. Burr was the king of channelling that into $$$.

When these guys make money, they don't see themselves as like everyone else. Yeah, they might not be billionaires, but he's not one of us anymore when he gets to that amount of wealth.

My family has, for years, tried to scare me and repeatedly failed. I just don't scare. My daughter jumped out from behind her door and... Nothing. She asked me why I don't scare and I replied, "The key is I live in my head so I hardly pay attention to anything."

I've said this before his comedy specials aren't awesome. Not consistently through anyway. His interviews and off the cuff remarks were way funnier. He was great in 5 min intervals.

I think Tyson made on the low end approx $20M a fight to something like $80M for the Lennox Lewis fight. And that was back in the early 2000s. You can't put together 5 UFC fighters today that could make that money.
