I've not seen any explanation for why sidewalks are ripped up and not put back together for months. I get that there are a lot of utility companies to coordinate with that makes the road construction slow and repetitive. But why are the sidewalks left undone?

I read the Wash Post recap of Hegseth's speech before I got on Bluesky. It sounded like a perfunctory bland speech. Then I get on Bluesky and see what he actually said. Totally inappropriate and bonkers. The papers simply do not accurately report what Trump and co say.
