What I often think about political movements is if it takes “only” 6 years for example for a movement to become successful, that is a blip in time, but *I* will age during those 6 years. I don’t want to age, wait, or suffer that long. I wish things could change sooner.

Sold 100% of my stocks today, even stock I was awarded as compensation in past jobs. I have some gains, and I care more to protect those little successes than to keep gambling on Trump’s economy/stock market. The only $ still invested is my 401k which will hopefully outlive Trumpism.

Saw people saying a 1 day boycott is pointless. If 1M+ people intentionally stop spending on the same day, it’s more noticeable and easier than 10k people stopping spending for months. The blip is useful to get corpos talking about it in meetings. #economicblackout

On Reddit, I used to avoid blocking unless someone responded to me with something egregious. But on Bluesky, blocks come freely 💙 no response needed. It’s like a silent sweepstakes. It’s like a digital thwack of the dustpan on the edge of the trash can.

We used to have different sites we’d spend time on or gather information from without assuming conservatives and trolls would ruin the vibe. We should be making our own sites, blogs, and forums way more. Where are the Xangas, the Freewebs? Web 1.0 should be the next ‘social media’ trend. #fuckzuck
