i think to understand the meaning of the birthright citizenship clause to the framers of the 14th amendment, you have to understand significance of dred scott to the civil war republican party. dred scott wasn't just a bad ruling, it was understood as a rejection of the declaration itself.

Oh, neat, so you can tell us the exact names of all eleven people on the boat by, say, tomorrow morning, right?

Because you have a list. You can do that, right away.

No reason to delay, their buddies know they got blown up. So let's see that list.

(Also doesn't make this legal)
EXCLUSIVE: Pete Hegseth ordered the U.S. military on Sept. 2 to kill all 11 people on a suspected drug-smuggling boat because they were on an internal list of military targets, the commander overseeing the operation told lawmakers, according to multiple sources.
Admiral told lawmakers everyone on alleged drug boat was on a list of military targets
Adm. Frank Bradley said U.S. intelligence had identified the 11 people on the boat and determined the military was authorized to kill them as part of Trump’s campaign against alleged drug-smuggling vessels.

these stupid assholes think they’re going to be able to have a firefight in the morning, walk away from a cool explosion at lunch and take the family out to chili’s for dinner and I cannot stress enough that is not what civil war looks like
that's cool, man, but have you tried the taste of a refreshing matcha latte

The world's wealthy liberal democracies looked the other way on FIFA's corruption for years because they didn't think corruption in sports was a big deal or worth addressing, and now find themselves looking at FIFA as a powerful, increasingly-integrated part of the far-right anti-democracy movement.

I'm starting to wonder how much "the male loneliness epidemic" is just straight and bisexual women identifying low-effort, mean, and incompetent men and choosing not to date, marry, and tolerate them anymore

all a bit esoteric and it's not exactly a messaging winner, but: america is a religion, and a proselytizing one. that's what being a creedal nation means. come to america, endorse the principles of the declaration and the constitution: congrats, you are an american.

It’s funny how Elon Musk has no problem with Chinese regulation, which is much stricter than European regulation.

Have you ever seen him call for the abolition of the CCP?
