Guten Morgen zusammen - wie gewohnt mit einem aktuellen Bild der Sonne per Satellit SDO, hier mit Blick auf ungewöhnlich viele Sonnenflecken.
Die ganze erdzugewandte Seite der Sonne in gelben und orangefarbenen Tönen. Über die Oberfläche verstreut rund ein Dutzend dunkler Flecken, links ein einziger, weiter rechts davon und etwas höher zwei Gruppen mit zwei und drei Flecken, dann wieder einer allein und rechts schließlich zwei Gruppen mit wiederum zwei und drei Sonnenflecken. Die entstehen durch Störungen in den Magnetfeldern der Sonne und sind an sich nicht ungewöhnlich, in dieser Anordnung und Häufung aber selten.

When Amazing Stories commissioned me to do the cover for the premier issue of their newly redesigned magazine, I decided that the painting should encompass both the realms of science fiction and fantasy. 1/3
