I sit up in bed, yawning and stretching, when it occurs to me: Passover week! It begins today! Since my twelfth birthday, I have been eagerly awaiting this week of traveling, worshiping, and feasting with my parents. I spring out of bed and sprint out to wake my parents, ignoring the pain in my toe after stubbing it on my bedroom door. ​“Mama! Papa! Wake up,” I call. “We’re going to Jerusalem!” ​My parents clothe themselves and emerge from their room, groggy yet happy and ready for the big trek ahead. ************************************************************************ ​Like a deer through a field of wildflowers, my feet barely touch the ground as I skip along the road leading to Jerusalem and King Solomon’s glorious temple. I only stop to help Mama and Papa lift our cart when it hits a stone. Finally, after what seems like forever and a day, I see in the distance the temple, gleaming in the sun as if radiating the glory of God Himself. ​Mama stays behind in the women’s court while Papa and I select a lamb to give to the high priest as a sacrifice. As Papa takes a lamb and places it in my arms to carry up the steps, a new sensation washes over me. For the first time, I feel a sense of sorrow concerning the practice of sacrifice. I have been taught that people take innocent, spotless, young animals and burn them so as to let the wrath of God come down on the animals so that sinful, imperfect people may be free from that wrath. However, as I feel this innocent, spotless, frightened lamb struggle in my arms and listen to its bleats and cries for its mother, my eyes fill with tears.

A sketch of a calendar/reading schedule for if you read each Titanic Voyage chapter on its respective date. (Although the book starts and ends on January 13 because I'm fancy.) A Tassadermaling (Taxidermy Borderling) laying on an empty store booth at a mall. It possessed a deer bust taxidermy and molds itself to loosely replicate it, save for its red, slimy body and tendrils. Marmoraling, the Uprooted Borderling. It's an elongated monster resembling a large root system. Eyes dot its body and fave. It grows underneath pavement and tightly coils around pipes. Rubigoling, thr Rust Borderling. It resembles a rusted scrap metal sculpture of a dog, save for its additional limbs and large fangs. Rust grows everywhere within the 5ft radius around the Borderling. Tempestasling, the Weather Borderling. It loosely resembles a large deer with wings. Instead of a head, a floating cube with arrows pointing at the cardinal directions on Earth. A blue fog envelopes it. It is responsible for satellite glitches. Weather patterns change within a 20ft radius around it, causing snow on a clear day and vise versa.
