Can someone please give Haaland a little kick? Just enough of a one to give him three months off work.
He deserves a mid season rest as he is carrying that entire team. 🙂

I've just seen some of the officiating at the Arsenal Women's match -v- Chelsea.
Oh dear.
A case for VAR? If it brings the same chaos as it does in the men's game, then no.
A case for appointing officials with more experience to what are the top matches in the division? Perhaps.

Any chance Arsenal might get through more than 2 weeks without a player getting injured?

I think the FAI should seek out new sponsors for the Republic of Ireland mens team.
Instead of Sky, I think it would be more apt if it were Dulux as it is like watching paint dry when the Republic of Ireland play.
A better synergy, no doubt.

I have never heard it before, but the Latvian National Anthem is very pleasant to listen to. Lovely choral arrangement just before the England game.
At one stage, I thought there were elements of the English National Anthem underpinning it.

An interesting interview of Anthony Taylor from the BBC.
It raises significant issues that require a sympathetic understanding, however, I disagree with the premise that people expect perfection from referees. In my experience, they don't.

I'm just watching @bbcmotd.bsky.social back and I'm left scratching my head at the analysis of the Arsenal penalty incident.
Joe Hart went to great lengths to educate the viewer on the LOTG, confidently concluding that it was right to overturn the onfield decision.
This misses the point.

Now, I'm not saying the push was significantly heavy, but, with a directive from the PGMOL issued at the start of the year clamping down on pushing in the penalty area, VAR should have looked more closely at the Newcastle goal.
But I guess it wasn't a clear and obvious error.

I don't know what part of CLEAR and OBVIOUS error the people at the PGMOL don't get.
It is not the job of VAR to re-referee a game of football.

So, the BBC are reporting that Madueke is out for 6 to 8 weeks with a knee problem.
If this is remotely accurate, it seems to me that there is something amiss with Arsenal's training and preparation of players.
There are simply too many injuries occurring at such a frequency to put down to luck.

"Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva says his side were at a disadvantage against Arsenal because of the Premier League's scheduling."
Sorry about that Bernardo. Perhaps you should really contact UEFA?
Arsenal could complain about their tough first 5 PL matches but wont.

I'm listening to a lot of "Liverpool were the real winners" and "with a 5 point lead already, Liverpool have it in the bag" comments this morning.
My goodness. We are 5 games into the season, not 25.
I'm glad we have a lot of clairvoyants among us.
Next week's winning lottery numbers, anyone?
