Niiiice! I’m about midway through season seven of DS9 in my ongoing “introduce close friend to all of Star Trek” marathon. Every time I get this far, I already start to miss it all over again.

Making an effort to use this place for more than occasional re-posts and vaguely sarcastic Star Trek and Final Fantasy commentary.

So, uh, how is everybody on this fine Saturday?

I am THRILLED that my favourite Broken Sword, The Smoking Mirror, is officially getting the Reforged treatment!

After 2 years of me nagging poor Charles Cecil, we finally chatted about what's coming next and how this new Reforged raises the bar once again.

Bummed about Jane Goodall’s passing. Wonderful woman; a true force for good.

I had the honour of helping to host two of her lectures at USF some years back, which afforded me the opportunity to speak one-on-one with her a bit. Every sense of warmth she portrayed to crowds was absolutely genuine.

My colleagues at Bloomberg report that the $20 billion debt in the EA deal is expected to be rated single-B — meaning it is considered a "junk" loan, or one that is high-risk and speculative, typically offering high interest rates. Which the new EA will have to pay

Hello! I am a reporter from TheGamer who likes Dragon Age + Mass Effect a whole lot. If you have ever worked on the series/have some links to it, and wouldn't mind commenting on EA's acquisition by investing groups run by Saudi Arabia's crown prince and Jared Kushner, please get in touch!

Final Fantasy Tactics The Ivalice Chronicles may be less than "definitive" on a checklist, yet this version gives the SRPG classic new voice (figuratively and literally), lifting up a story that resonates now more than ever. Our review by @quinton.bsky.social:
Final Fantasy Tactics The Ivalice Chronicles Review - Nova Crystallis
Some games leave a larger imprint on the industry than their commercial performance might suggest. 1997’s Final Fantasy Tactics is one of those games. It is beloved beyond a doubt. Its name has been u...

Was on the bus the other day, and the guy in front of me was wearing a Katamari Damacy hat. I didn't want to be weird so instead of starting a conversation with him I hummed the theme until he turned around and initiated it himself.

I’ve been broken for the last ~24 hours but my first big TGS piece has just dropped.

I spoke to Resident Evil Requiem director, Nakanishi-san, and producer, Kumazawa-san, about returning to Raccoon City, and what they learnt from 5 & 6, and revisiting Outbreak.

Reading this less than 24 hours before I head to a hotel while asbestos is removed from my walls is a keen reminder that my walls have a brighter future ahead than society as a whole right now.

Dying Light 2 was one of the first games I properly guided for TheGamer, so it’s very cool to have the chance to review Dying Light: The Beast. It’s not as ambitious as the last game, but that definitely helps it in the long run. My review: www.thegamer.com/dying-light-...
Dying Light: The Beast Review - Back To Beastics
The Beast isn’t as ambitious as Dying Light 2, but that sharper focus makes it feel like the true sequel to the first game.

The story held it back for me. It’s… not offensively bad; just all rather plain. 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim is surely the developer’s best run on that score.

Unicorn Overlord’s combat is so good, though. I know the devs always seem to flinch a bit at direct comparisons to Ogre Battle, but they’re apt.
