ICU tonight we've done compressions, placed an arterial line, placed a central line, did an emergency needle thoracostomy, placed a pigtail catheter, and used methylene blue as a last ditch pressor. More ICU action tonight than I've had in the last 6 months, and the night is only halfway done 🫠

Last night I dreamed I flew across continents (like I actually flew, not by airplane) and took pictures as I went, got lots of photos of yaks across central Asia, and stopped in a remote area of Kyrgyzstan, where I found and joined a group of American ice climbers. At least my subconscious has fun.

Congratulations to the 272 physicians who matched into adult infectious diseases and the 44 who matched into pediatric infectious diseases this year. Over 50% of programs went unfilled, marking a very challenging match year for ID. The current hostile sentiment towards ID is not helping recruitment.
