If you're looking for a payroll service, and are looking at Wave, DO NOT.

Look anywhere else. Hiring a necromancer to resurrect an accountant from 1902 is a better choice.

For the last several nights, sunset here has been at 5:36 pm. I check this almost daily because we try to catch sunset on the rooftop whenever possible. Tonight - a full 15 days before the equinox - sunset is at 5:37. What is happening???

One week from now my kids will be on a plane to visit us in Okinawa and omg, I'm already so excited. I can't wait to share this incredible place with them! There will be noodles! And sashimi! And snorkeling, shisa hunts, kijimuna hunts, and castles. 😍

“That the human race is improving; that we have things to be proud of as humans. No, ancient astronauts did not build the pyramids — human beings built them, because they’re clever and they work hard. And Star Trek is about those things.”

Today's scam email is for a book that hasn't been published yet. I'm only 70% done with the 1st draft.
But still: "What really stands out is how False Flag feels both exciting and meaningful, balancing themes of courage, justice, and integrity with moments that feel real and emotionally true."

My husband is a civilian Marine employee in Okinawa. Dependent college-enrolled kids are *entitled* to 1 RT plane ticket/year. Requires advance authorization for travel orders. We filed & approval letter from his boss's boss went to Pentagon, who denied it because it wasn't on Dept of War stationary
It's funny that Hegseth calls himself "Secretary of War" and the admin talks about the "Department of War" when that's just... an unofficial rebrand. Congress never changed it. He's the Secretary of Defense, legally. They're just doing a bit. They changed the website to war dot gov and everything.

I rewatch this movie regularly. I also listen to the soundtrack almost daily--it's my go-to #1k1hr writing music. It is exactly 59 minutes long and has Yo-Yo Ma!

LONG RAMBLING EMOTIONAL THREAD:

It's World AIDS Day. Since the Administration has decided to keep it quiet, I'd like to share my introduction to AIDS.

I grew up in Seattle. My mom remarried a man who had a brother who was a King County Sheriff's Deputy. His name was Terry and he was gay. 1/x

Oh Holy Night - Christian
Do They Know it's Christmas? - Secular, but more for the memories of Christmas 1984 than the actual song.
What is your favorite "Christian" Christmas song and what is your favorite "Secular" Christmas song?

I will probably always adore "O Come All Ye Faithful" and "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" for Christian.

And "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" for secular.

Remember, the big argument for AI in the arts is that these “artists” have ideas, hundreds of ideas, thousands, all that was stopping them was the hoards of gatekeeping musicians, writers, illustrators… and not that they were lazy and didn’t want to put in the work.
