Reject the premise. AFAIAC there is no requirement to get an SNP majority. It's only the SNP saying this. Not even Westminster is saying this.
My intent is to vote for a pro-Indy majority, not an SNP one.
Q: Will Swinney ask for a S30 if only a pro-Indy maj?

The SNP has revealed itself as an entirely self-serving party. It is setting the standard of getting a S30 as being the 2011 election (See "Your Right to Decide" P9), so only an SNP majority will get it. It's extorting votes from the movement.

No it won't - because the Union is not at stake. Holyrood can't do anything on Indy except ask for it.

This is pure, unadulterated, selfish, self-serving politics on what they think is a captive vote.

I'm seriously of a mind to say stick either SNP1 or 2 next year, with this shit.

I agree. Their "Your Right to Decide" doc (Page 9) basically says that the 2011 election giving the 2014 referendum should be regarded as the "precedent" for allowing a S30. It's The SNP setting this standard, not Westminster!

They are extorting votes out of Indy supporters!

“In the Scottish Government’s view, Scotland’s place as one of the nations of the UK therefore rests on three things:

• the acceptance, by the UK and Scottish Governments and by the UK and Scottish Parliaments and by the people of Scotland, of the right to decide and the precedent of the 2011 Scottish Parliament election and 2014 referendum

• the decision, by the people of Scotland in the 2014 independence referendum, that Scotland should continue as part of the UK

• the ability of the people of Scotland to decide to exercise their right to decide again, at any point in the future

Without any of these three things, in the Scottish Government’s view, promises of the UK being a voluntary Union of nations would be hard to maintain. It could no longer be claimed that the consent of the people, across each part of the UK, was holding the Union together.“

Afterthought: Not impressed by the reference to the 2011 election result, as that would seem to imply that a similar result would be required in the future. In other words, it would have to be an SNP majority. The SNP there making the case that a pro-Indy majority would not be enough, it would have to be an SNP majority! How self-serving can you get!
