I spend a lot of time talking with people in dms about stuff I don't like, actually, which does make me feel like a hypocrite. But I guess in that form it feels more like a two-way conversation and not macho posturing towards an unknowable audience.

It's not even so much that I don't think there's value in being a hater sometimes or having provocative opinions. But the way it just filters down into the ambient culture at large is just suffocating. Have been spending less and less time on social media because I find it so intolerable.
