If I was building an embedded systems flight controller for a drone, why would I not want to use Swift?
Most open source stuff is C/C++ or Rust. But if I’m building everything myself, what are the disadvantages?

When Threads first launched I thought the iOS app had the best UI/UX out of all the Twitter like apps and now it is the worst. Meta really makes the worst apps.
The iOS app is a git fork of the Instagram codebase.

I got an email after hours for a PR review request.
I tried to open the PR in the GitHub iOS app to review.
I can't see it because it is using a different GitHub account so I give up. LOL - great process contract gig

If you have an expert web dev build a react site, Claude is really good at turning that code into a decent @expo.dev (React Native) app.

I know almost nothing about building custom Swift macros. The @ Table macro can’t force conforming to identifiable?
Defining a SQLiteData model looks a lot like defining a SwiftData one, with a few key differences:
• You use the @Table macro instead of @Model
• You provide an explicit ID over an implicit one
• You use a simple struct value type instead of a messy class reference type

I was feeling lazy so I asked Claude code to figure out a swift build error. After 15 minutes and several wrong solutions my laziness went away and I figured it out in about 20 seconds. The direction Claude was headed, I’m not sure it would have ever figured it out.

I 100% endorse choosing a tech stack based on the cuteness of its mascot. Yo @swift.org you need to step your game up.

If starting a new iOS app today, would it be crazy to use a UIKit lifecycle and just host SwiftUI inside view controllers? Or are we all in on the SwiftUI lifecycle?
