10 years ago this evening. I never knew what kept drawing me back to McLin Creek time and time again. There's nothing special or remarkable about it. Just a serene little creek outside Catawba, NC, where one could sit in quiet solitude, and let the mind wander.

Built in 1858, a few moments here, listening to the creek churning over the rocks below, crickets chirping, and the cool Autumn breeze, and you could almost swear you'd hear the faint moan of a steam locomotive in the distance. It's staccato increasing as it worked hard up from the river crossing a few miles East. Days like today make me homesick for places like this. I miss my home, and my life in NC, but I know it's true what they say. I've lived it before. Once you've left, you never can truly go home again...
