When it comes to Halloween candy or treats that come into our house, I generally tell the kids have as much as you’d like but don’t make yourself sick.

My daughter had cake yesterday and came to me and said “oh. No. I broke snack rule number 1”

Let’s just say she’s NEVER doing that again.

I struggle with words at the best of times, which is why I turn to authors and artists to help me communicate.

This is exactly it.

I know with all the news today it feels like it doesn’t matter. But my kid did NOT get into the highschool program she wanted and has been working for. And will never know why. And is broken because of it.

And she’s 12.

I can appreciate as a Canadian that school shootings are so rare that the prime minister suspends his entire schedule over this tragedy.
Just now from Carney’s PMO:

Please note: In light of Tuesday’s tragic events in Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia, the Prime Minister’s previously announced schedule has been suspended. Details to follow.

A link to Trent’s post (who live streamed today’s events in Tumbler Ridge). He was the only reporter in town and is handling all the media.

Here are his instructions to donate to his paper.

I need 3 days to get used to new meds and I’m having trouble arranging that. Doc said “you don’t get weekends?“

1) I’m a mom
2) I tutor math
3) I volunteer (tutor, guides, soccer, theatre, Red Cross)

People who have 3 unencumbered consecutive days WTF? this is a lifestyle I cannot relate to

My 12yo finds out tomorrow if she got into the highschool she wants, she says “I’m nervous but not like butterflies in my stomach but like bees in my legs and ants in my arms” 😬

So. This is a lot.

PLEASE put in your service contract a guaranteed uptime.

The NUMBER and LENGTH OF TIME charge point terminals sit broken in Vancouver is astronomical. BC hydro does a vastly better job and should be rewarded for that.
We are making it easier for Canadian drivers to charge their EVs by building a national charging network.

No matter where you are in Canada, charging your car should be as simple as filling your gas tank.

I was supposed to plant my garden before last frost. I don’t think that happened this year.

From my very wise middle aged friend:

Look some days are “doin-stuff” days an some are just “don’t fall apart” days

Both are valid

Talking to my doctor about my fears around getting Botox for migraine:

“It’s not the needles is the idea of putting literal poison in my body in a non-reversible non-extractable way“

OMG is that how anti-vaxxers feel?

My uncle: house burnt down, mom passed away, son has cancer and his dad who has suffered multiple compression fractions is too abusive for any healthcare professional to work with him, save for his sister in law who is living with addiction (along with his brother)

But he got a deal on oranges!

Is there anyone out there who can help a mom figure out how FanExpo Vancouver works?

There is a crew of kids who are excited about a “meet and greet” with a VTuber, but online they are listed as having panels but you can purchase autographs. So to do a meet do I purchase an autograph?

Help!

Ugh. I just want to help. The same people who are pro *this* were anti remote learning during covid. It just hurts my soul.

When my friends and I graduated university we each took our most hated course and had a good old fashioned book burning.

Highly recommend.

I told my daughter we will do the same to her jump math book, and make s’mores.
