Here he is!! Velocity, in the fur. Seeing him all together just fills my heart with so much joy. I am planning a much more elaborate photoshoot when I have the rest complete but for now, I wanted to share!! Have to thank @plushthoughts.bsky.social for helping me get pics.

Think the honeymoon phase of WED clay is over. It’s making my eczema act up something fierce. I get this time to time but all the wet clay is making my hands extra angry. Back to monster clay!!

The support shell broke but the silicone mold for the head base came out perfectly. I love those bubble sheets!! It made this so much easier. Trying to decide if I go ahead and cast this up today or…

Can’t sleep ( surprise) thinking I might redo the cheetah mask. I just can’t seem to get a look I vibe with. My minds eye isn’t matching and I think I’ll just try again. Seems to be the theme with velocity, I always make everything twice x) ( except the body cause fuck that )

Mulling ideas. My brain is fighting with me. It keeps overriding to realism but I want to add some distinctive features/personality to the sculpt. Trying to blend the two and it’s just 404ing haha. This is the part I have to make changes back and forth to gauge what I like, and don’t.

Next time I get some extra cash I gotta order a new scale. My poor casting scale is more goop than scale at this rate lol! Also need to order more silicone tints and psycho paint. For latex I need to get some liquidtex for painting too. I keep thinking how it’s gonna be a very rubbery winter/spring!

I think I went overkill on the silicone for the head core but like, I’d rather it be too much then not enough. Just need to do the support shell and it’s done! Hopefully this weekend I can run fiberglass in it.

Oops learning why you gotta keep WED clay wet. I let it air dry so I could sculpt some details and I found it covered in cracks. Discovered the clay was a bit thin in those areas so gonna thicken it up a bit then keep a better eye on it. Honeymoon phase is over I guess lmao

Trying to ponder if I sculpt the hair to the sculpt or if I sculpt it separately. Might be easier to cast if it’s in two separate pieces. Hmmm

I see one or two things I wanna fix after these pics but I wanted to share. I am pretty obsessed with how the shadows lie on the form. Specially the profile. Should be adding all the lovely details tomorrow

Had Greek pizza today as my final heavy calorie meals as I am about to enter my “ I’d like to lose 10lbs by summer” diet. I haven’t gained any weight I just wanna loose some so i can hopefully see some muscle

Feeling so productive today, doing a brush on mold and between coats I am working on the cheetah head sculpture. I also got my 3D printer happily printing away in the background. Feels good!!
