I think one of the biggest reasons fallout is a flawless show and other shows about games/books come up short is that it's not a direct telling of an existing story but just a new story in that world. Same reason Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves was great.

If I wanted a divorce I would tell my wife she has a budget and needs to shop every possible insurance plan for us every year because that's an actual nightmare for her.

They removed half the lettuce and added kale to every salad and removed my Italian sandwich. Why would I go to a restaurant that clearly hates me? My last time there I ordered a half sandwich half salad (no kale) and they did not add lettuce so my salad was basically an empty container of toppings.
