Jake Paul’s “boxing” career is so fascinating to me

Has there been another boxer in history that the only way to prove their fights are legit is that they have to lose?

How crazy is that lol

Oh social media, look what you did to boxing…

Avoiding danger isn’t cowardice. It’s intelligence. Which explains why some people struggle with it.

Training for fun is 100% valid—love your art, enjoy the ride! Just don’t sprinkle tactical fairy dust on it and call it self-defense. Yoga isn’t MMA, and jazz hands won’t stop a mugger. #TrainHonest #KnowWhatYouDo

Self-defense is for peacetime—when laws work and people pretend to be civilized. Combatives? That’s for wartime—when the rules are ‘try not to die.’ Train for the right one, or you’ll either get arrested or get your dome kicked in. Context matters

If your self-defense technique only works at the final stage, that’s like saying a parachute is great, once you’ve hit the ground. Judge it by how easy it is to learn and use, not by how cool it looks when everything goes perfectly. That’s the essence of self-defense.

Self-defense starts as ‘get home safe,’ but stick with it long enough, and the goal quietly shifts to winning fights. Next thing you know, you’re not avoiding fights, you’re training for them. It’s like taking swimming lessons and accidentally joining the Navy SEALs.

De-escalation works. So does a good exit. And, if you’re in the right state, so does standing your ground and dropping a man if you have to.

Too many self-defense instructors highlight rare outliers—maybe to sound smart, maybe to sell. Focus on common threats, adapt to exceptions. Not every player is Jordan, and not every bad guy is a time-traveling murder robot.

Just ignore them” feels clever—until they take it as a green light to escalate.
Silence isn’t always neutral. Learn to disengage with purpose, or prepare to set boundaries fast.

“Just stay aware” works… until you’re exhausted, distracted, or holding groceries.
Real life isn’t perfect. Your self-defense shouldn’t rely on 100% focus.
Build habits that work even when your head’s somewhere else.

Situational awareness isn’t paranoia – it’s just our most basic survival strategy with better PR. If you’re somewhere sketchy at night and you don’t need to be there, ask yourself: Would I bring my grandma here? No? Time to leave.

Just don’t look like a victim” works – until you forget what that even means.
It’s not about flexing. It’s about posture, eye contact, and looking like you belong.
Predators spot uncertainty. Move like you’ve got somewhere to be.

Talk to someone about what happened. Processing the event is part of recovery. Whether it’s a therapist or a friend, don’t brush it off—mental health matters as much as physical

Setting boundaries early can stop problems before they start. If someone’s in your space, hold eye contact and confidently say, ‘I need you to step back.’ Some people respect assertiveness—or at least show you their true intentions so you have more time to get ready!
