This is awesome! I'm concerned about the layers being separated like that. If you do not see any evidence of external boring, this is likely a response by the clams to encapsulate and isolate intruding trematode parasites... Do any of those blisters have an opening? If so parasite likely survived 😊

Do they have an opening ? like those trematode induced "igloos"
Having seen something very similar in one of my samples, I'm leaning towards a reaction against trematodes. But id there any indication of boring on the outside?
