Who will Rep. Serpa support on the Democratic side for RI House District 27?

Her answer - "The individual I will support to succeed me has not announced publicly and I want to afford the individual the opportunity to make a formal announcement at the appropriate time."
STORY - West Warwick state Rep. Patricia Serpa (D) is *NOT* seeking reelection this fall after 20 years in the GA.
@wpri12.bsky.social

So far one Republican, Lawrence Almagno, is running for HD-27. TBD on who runs as a Dem.

UPDATE - Mike Imondi says he was intending to run but won't without state Rep. Patricia Serpa's endorsement.

He said it's his understanding that Serpa's support "may have already been extended to another resident within the district."

Currently trying to find out who it is.
ICYMI: State Rep. Patricia Serpa (D-West Warwick) told my colleague @tednesi.bsky.social she is *NOT* seeking reelection for RI HD-27 this year.

Republican Lawrence Almagno Jr. is running. Possible Dem candidate I'm hearing is Providence FOP President Mike Imondi.

He resides in Pawtucket, according to his CF-1.

Almagno is a League of RI Businesses candidate and has $6.2K on hand after the latest fundraising quarter.

Imondi previously told me he has "pondered serving in the General Assembly in the past and may consider it again in the future, if the time comes when the District 27 seat is vacated."

Should note that evening fmr. NY Congressman @jamaalbowmanny.bsky.social — who has endorsed @davidmoralespvd.bsky.social — will headline a fundraiser for the mayoral candidate.

Maybe Bowman will do an event with him earlier that day?

On paper this is a flippable seat for the RI GOP.

It *may* have flipped back red in 2024 if anyone but Price ran. Trump x3 district.

But can’t discount Rep. @cotterforri.bsky.social
appeal to those voters either.

Top 3 GA seats to watch in November.
Hopkinton Town Councilor Jasmin Roy (R) is running for RI House District 39.

Seat is currently held by two-term state Rep. @cotterforri.bsky.social (D).

Cotter first won against fmr. Rep. Justin Price, who was in Washington DC during 1/6. (Price says he never entered the Capitol).
