A new study in @nature.com shows the world’s biggest oil and gas companies contribute less than 1.5% to renewable energy capacity — despite claiming for years to be leading the energy transition.

one law prof said it "could influence a jury" in climate lawsuits

Study: Oil companies are not ‘part of the solution’
New research in the journal Nature reveals oil and gas companies own a “marginal” share of global renewable capacity, years after claiming they would lead the energy transition.

But only if it passes and it signed by the Mayor! If it fails to pass or is veto’d, it’ll set it all back by at least a year or two to get a future version passed.

Hi John! As I’ve explained a few times, the seasonal phase out begins in 2027, which is under two years.

Thanks!

Hi John! The phase out begins with a seasonal phase out in 2027, which is less than 2 years away.

I’m sorry it’s not everything you wanted

I’m not going to spend time debating this any longer. But thank you for engaging!

Hi John! Getting this passed and implemented is what I’m doing to best serve my community. What happens in PVD affects the state and vice versa.

I think bringing folks to the table is an important part of the process. We might just disagree on that.

I hope you have a great weekend!

Hi John! I think you’re misinterpreting what I’m saying. PVD based businesses serve other parts of the state & vice versa. Most folks I talk with want the phase-out and aren’t looking to put folks out of business.

I think we just have a difference of opinion here!

I hope you have a great day.

My phone has decided to start autocorrecting the word ‘amazing’ to ‘snacking’, so if I strangely tell you that you are snacking - you’ve been forewarned.

Hi John! That’s not information I have access to! We have landscapers based in PVD, based in other parts of RI & surrounding states who then operate all over the state!

Getting legislation actually passed & implemented often requires working many folks & meeting in the middle.

Thanks!!

Sometimes when I’m out late for meetings or event, my husband texts me pictures of #CaptainRuggles snoozing so I don’t miss out.

America is in crisis.

So it's a small relief that the rest of the world is actually getting remarkable stuff done with energy. We just passed a huge milestone globally!

Now back to work on America.

I was in a coffee shop this morning waiting for a mtg & a group of high school students came in, fiercely debating who should run for student govt & what they would do if they win.

My Leslie Knope heart is full. And so inspired to work even harder so govt is something they continue to aspire to!

We suggested to out of town guests that we check out the Providence Flea.

They were like ‘is that like the Big Blue Bug but in the City?!’

I ❤️ how many insect-based landmarks they assumed we had…

Oh my gosh- I love this!! I’ll have to check out that map!!

I had no idea Edgar Allan Poe had a Providence connection! He met his fiancée in a rose garden on Benefit St (that’s still there - in Ward 3!)

Thank you to my Benefit St neighbors for inviting me to an author event & neighborhood gathering! I think this will be the perfect October book!
