For anyone watching who wonders "Ugh, why is Carol LIKE that?" here's why, very succinctly, from the AV Club's A- review of the Pluribus S1 finale (spoilers)
It's a slow-burn character study (studies, really) disguised as a sci-fi thriller. Its vibes are less War of the Worlds and Lost, and more Cast Away, 2001: A Space Odyssey, or the openings to Wall-E and Up. Your mileage may vary!

I will she she does eventually become curious and ask the "right" things (not really a spoiler), but also know that the show isn't about "how to beat the aliens" but really following her personal journey of overcoming her own flaws. (Which, I get if that doesn't float some people's boat...)

Also, remember she's still weeks out from the shock of the death of her wife (not to mention billions of people), so her priorities for what to ask differ from folks watching comfortably beyond the fourth wall.

Not sure how far you are into the show, but her past is explained, which informs much of the way she acts--there IS a reason why she's this way, and Gilligan purposely wanted to have the "wrong" person trying to save the world.

It occurs to me only now that the hive must have almost immediately calculated the caloric deficit, considering this is only ... a day or two since the joining, I think?

Not to mention the bodies of the neighbors Carol sees picked up and carried away in E1

In later seasons, Greg Davies explains pretty explicitly, but in different ways, that it's 5 comedians in rounds of arbitrary tasks, and there's a winner each season

Every UK season is free to watch on YT in the US (20 of them, plus holiday and "Champion of Champion" specials too)

Of the myriad complaints, the two biggest I've heard is a) so many plot holes, they essentially formed the finale--not a good look for a single ep of TV, let alone a finale, and b) and this is a spoiler, but having 2 character who long suffered abuse and neglect and no family are the ones who die

(One big part of that: the racist/pro-slavery Confederacy and those associated with it were never held accountable after losing the US Civil War. That's another post for another time.)

Back to my original point: staging a revolution simply isn't possible as it sounds, and here's why.

... This post sums up why. To be clear, the vast majority of Americans did NOT vote for the man, and there's compelling evidence that Harris did win the election, but the results were tampered with.

Unfortunately, that doesn't account for the roughly 1/3 of the country who DID vote for him (cont.)

Hello all. I've lived in the US all my life, and I've been horrified by both Tr*mp presidencies. I realize, though, many outside the US who are also watching the atrocities unfolding, may wonder why nothing's happened to stop it when other countries have successfully revolted when needed... (cont.)

You could legitimately have seen those videos back to back on MTV at some point in the late 90s-early 2000s

Speaking of which, I noticed your name is ... er, anagram-ish?
January 7, 2026 at 10:12 PM
If "Sky Showmen" was a troupe of high-kicking folk dancers, "real name" was an anagram indicator, and it ended with (3,7) then maybe! :)

She knows my real name, the jig is up!

I love that Kumail and Tim Key's mutual love for cricket was the pivotal factor at play here

I love this song, but as I have a serious aversion to any depictions of anthropomorphic food, I have to skip it any time I see it LOL

I feel like she's never really moved past that, and I think that's informed (even unconsciously) so many of her decisions and reactions to what's happened during the series.

For me, the thing that unlocked everything Carol said and did is that while she has the intellectual intelligence of an adult, she has the emotional intelligence of the teenager she was when she was put into conversion therapy and rejected by her parents.

Bwahahaha. In these cases, if it seems like something the writers may eventually pay off, I hold back lest I spoil it for myself
