Oh no @bobbyg0313.bsky.social!
Why did you turn off comments on your TikTok? ☹️

Is it because I provided context to the out-of-context clip of Irish that you posted?

This feels like a sort of carnival-week funeral for the US republic. Beneath deep anger at Trump's orgy of vandalism and self-worship, I feel deep sadness. What a train wreck of a superpower.

Screw the signs. Be loud and get escorted out without resisting #GoodTrouble
Congressman Al Green’s method of protest is compelling without a doubt…but these signs I don’t think are effective.

They look polite and soft.

If you’re going to hold up a sign, make it big and bold — or do what Al Green did.

People have been saying it looks like they’re at an auction.

Update—Democrats: Forget the signs. Call out the truth. Get loud. Take a stand. They kicked your colleague Rep. Al Green out for making his voice heard. Meet the moment. They would & have done this to you. Why are you rolling over & playing dead?

We just walked out of the state of the Union. My shirt showed Trump an important message: NO KINGS LIVE HERE.

In the spirit of student protestors from the Civil Rights Movement, I’m proud to have protested and walked out with many of my colleagues. This is NOT a normal time.

6. Beware of false attacks

Bondi is an election denier. Patel has an enemies list. Trump has promised retribution. When a Trump foe is under investigation, be skeptical. When you read leaks against pro-democracy leaders, consider that it may be part of an effort to discredit their work.

Everything’s building up to the question of whether the Democrats will provide any votes for funding the government in March. And given that they can’t trust the bureaucracy to follow through (that is, follow the law) on any deal they strike, it’s hard to see how they rationally could.

Can't stress enough how foundational this is. If Congress does not have control over appropriations, then they aren't a legislative body, they're a social club.

The Democrats need to use a shutdown to reassert Congressional control over spending, ironically on behalf of their Republican colleagues

It’s never been more apparent that society believes that sexual violence is ok
"Eight years ago, Trump’s first election helped ignite a reckoning for powerful men... His return to the White House signals a cultural shift more reflective of the aggressive view of masculinity Trump ran on."

@gracepanetta.bsky.social's latest.

Trump’s first term ignited #MeToo. Will his second extinguish it?
Advocates for victims of sexual violence see Trump’s reelection — and his Cabinet picks — as a clear sign of backlash against the movement to hold powerful men accountable.
