I think it's worth noting that the US has never launched a hostile invasion of the South American mainland. They could still do a lot of stuff (especially under Trump) without even having to step foot in Venezuela, though.

People in Syria and Lebanon drink mate (Ilex paraguariensis) because they traveled back and forth from South America. Could it be that this didn’t happen in Palestine because the British Mandate prevented migrants from returning?
