No book is going to turn kids into someone else. But books will regularly show kids other people like them and show those kids they're not alone. And they'll show kids other types of people who also exist. There is a large proportion of the population who are terrified of this.

I hosted a 2026 bingo/vision/punch card party today and it went really well but mostly in remembering now that if you just give yourself some space to be creative you might actually create something. I love how these turned out

Your local librarian here to say that it’s great if you read lots of books this year, alright if you read barely anything, that audiobooks, romance and graphic novels are all valid formats and genres, and that some authors suck but we’re still not stopping you from reading them.

Just watched the new Knives Out and I think it's really important you know that the scene in the Seminary's Gym is filmed in the same place Rick Astley filmed the music video for Never Gonna Give You Up.
I saw the window tracery and immediately made my friends pause the film so I could tell them.

Listen I am deathly afraid of spiders and I have to read this book for Professional Reasons and I thought, “it’ll be okay, it’s not like it’s pictures or videos.” It is NOT ok I have the HEEBIEST! JEEBIES!! I’m only three chapters in!!

I’ve always been pretty good about being able to shake myself into consciousness even in the grips of the deepest nightmares, but I’m currently in part 3 of The Everlasting and now there’s a physical(mental) device dream me is using to wake up from bad dreams. Books are neat.
