I opened my front door to do something in the middle of the night and just stood there for a minute enjoying the night and a fox ran right up to the door! They were like a foot away from me and it took them a few seconds to realise I was there and scamper off through our hedge. It was magical! 🦊

Managed to actually leave the house for a little while today, mum needed to go pick up her new glasses and I wanted to check out the new Forbidden Planet that nobody told me has been in Derby for like six months, rude. I now feel like I’m dying but I did get some manga and a little crabby friend!

Still sick after nearly two weeks but I do have an excellent if very strict nurse. Every time I try to get up and do stuff for more than a few minutes at a time she yells at me until I get back in bed (she also does this when I am not sick 🙃)

It took me two whole weeks but finally we have the first new book arrival of the year! Just because the title made me chuckle.

I’ve always loved the ending of Life On Mars (the uk one), Buffy had a fantastic ending, Blackadder Goes Forth is just impeccable, Star Wars Clone Wars saves it’s very best for last.

I’ve been sick the past few days and have woken up today with my voice about an octave lower than usual which on the one hand is oh no, getting sicker but on the other hand is yay extra fun to sing.

Finally settled yesterday on A Natural History Of Dragons by Marie Brennan as my first read of the year. It’s one of those books that I’m so fully convinced I will really like that my brain just decided that we didn’t actually need to read it so it’s just been sat there unread for a decade.

So, what books did we all get for Christmas? 🎄 I got these four from my mum 📚 it’s a very me selection: a fantasy about a kitty cat, a Star Wars, a first in yet another series I decided to finally start collecting, and a because hyperfixation wildcard.
