Trump's accountability can be achieved by impeachment, because you can't get to 67. Prosecution runs into immunity. If we retake the presidency we can join the ICC and give him to them.

Don't be fooled by an attempt to emotionally connect to a simpler time, when you left your doors open, and people were polite. Norman Rockwell is dead and society (no internet, no social media, a social contract) is not reversible. "If you put lipstick on a pig, it's still a pig."
What do my clothes have to do with any of this
Duffy: "Trump talks about the golden age of transportation. But the golden age in transportation truly begins with you ... People dress up like they're going to bed when they fly ... so we want to push people as we come into a really busy travel season: Help people out, be in a good mood, dress up"

WOW. A new PBS News/NPR/Marist poll has Democrats up 14 points on the generic ballot, 55% to 41%. This is their largest lead since 2017, a year before they picked up over 40 House seats.

If the Ds win in 2026, what they SHOULD do is initiate BILLS to recapture Article 1 power, and stop presidential abuse. Let the GOP vote them down one after another. What they shouldn't do is impeach, because they don't have the votes to convict. RESULTS!!

Since when does reality matter to a lunatic?
NEW: The Trump administration's brutal removal of so many workers is projected to shrink the nation’s GDP by as much as 6.8% — a deeper hit than the one sustained during the Great Recession.

Mass Deportations Aren’t Helping Workers. They’re Tanking The Economy. - OtherWords
Trump claimed immigrants were “taking your jobs.” But during his brutal crackdown, the job market has only gotten worse.

The Democrats called out racist shitbags and serial sex offenders.

If you heard those attacks and felt they were calling *you* out personally, then that's entirely on you, champ.

The rest of us white guys didn't hear that. At all.
Dems didn't brand "white dudes" as the "bad guy" as Portnoy suggests. We branded people who support a toxic, hate-filled convicted felon who abuses women and lies constantly about everything as the bad guys, and they just happen to be disproportionately white men.

I swear Tom’s posts are a reading comprehension test that a lot of people fail.
1. If America were fascist right now, I would not be posting here. Neither would you.

Instead, I - and you - would be trying to build networks of people *offline* who can support and protect each other, in the dark, rather than yelling at the president and his stooges in our own names. /2

Unmitigated bullshit.
this has been a common refrain among the New Right on X, despite the fact that it makes absolutely no sense when you think about it
JD Vance: "A lot of young people are saying housing is way too expensive. Why is that? Because we flooded the country with 30 million illegal immigrants who were taking houses that ought by right go to American citizens."

Even if a study was well conducted, each methodology is subject to valid criticism. There is no evidence that J.D. Vance has the statistical acumen to do so.
This sounds reasonable but is 100% wrong. Whether you or agree or disagree with a study is completely immaterial. What matters is whether the study was conducted properly and generates valid results. And it's impolitic to say but it's true: you have to have some level of expertise to judge that.
JD Vance: "Science as practiced in its best form is that if you disagree with it, then you ought to criticize it and you ought to argue against it."

Also gas at $2/gallon would probably mean the US economy was in serious distress.
You know the last time gas briefly dipped below $2/gallon? Spring 2020, when demand cratered due to covid.

Just like school vouchers, uninformed consumers get taken.
you know what people love? working more to haggle for health insurance costs
Trump: "I want the money to go into an account for people where they buy their own health insurance. It's so good. The insurance will be better. It'll cost less. Everybody is gonna be happy. They're gonna feel like entrepreneurs. They're actually able to go out & negotiate their own insurance"

That's what happens when the media is owned by the plutocracy.
The funny thing is that on the WaPo site, if you click on the comments section, it gives you an AI-generated summary of people's responses that is basically like "They all disagree with the paper's right-wing turn"

Trump cares about you.
'Maybe we'll cancel SNAP and 10-20% of all flights through *Thanksgiving* and *Christmas*' is just an insane political position.

You do that and the annual Turkey fryer injuries won't be from turkeys, but from folks attempting to fry whole GOP senators for Thanksgiving.
GOP SEN. JOHN KENNEDY: It may be 2026 when we'll come out of the shutdown.

The GOP needs a new theme song to replace God Bless the USA. How about Let's Pretend. Let's pretend that we're not stealing Christmas. Let's pretend we're not starving people. Let's pretend we're not killing people. Let's pretend we care. Let's pretend that everyone conspired to pin Russia on Trump.

Somebody gets it. To quote Eric Berne, "cold strokes are better than no strokes at all." Deprive the vampire of blood: ignore him.
I think he loves any attention he gets! He loves to be hated because he feeds off negative energy. The fastest way to wilt his lily is to give him no attention, don’t speak his name, and rejoice and be happy in the face of his assholiness! Because he is going to have his day of reckoning.

Not *once* did I say this. I pointed out that reliably liberal Democrats - like Obama - have sometimes run by trying to neutralize social hot-button issues. Obama did the smart thing in 2008 - even though it's clear he didn't believe it.
*touches earpiece once again*

I’m told Obama then ran in favor of same-sex marriage.

Times change. Suggesting Dems should run against SSM in 2025 is like suggesting that in 1935 they should have run on prohibition.
