A little while ago, my parents' cat Bridget went missing. As the weeks dragged on, they became extremely worried. My dad devised a way to distract himself: he began to paint Bridget's adventures, imagining her travelling through time and popping up in some of art and music's most iconic scenes.

I realised this year that I really like the expression, ‘first world problem’. It keeps so many things in perspective. I was just told my car probably isn’t worth fixing. Awful timing… but really, it’s not cancer, war or death of a loved one. It’s a car.

Never forget: READING FOR PLEASURE has the biggest positive impact of any factor on children's life chances. So never stop sharing books with kids. Never stop reading to them, and helping them to read. Never stop changing lives. #literacy #kidlit #books

Hello, I still don’t have many followers so thought an introduction might help. 1. I’m a librarian & an obsessive reader, one of my favourite authors is Sara Donati. 2. I think we need to update #IUnderstandTheAssignment to #NewAssigment & figure out how to combat rage/despair. 3. ❤️sharing stories.

My 9-11yr old Booksters reading groups (x2) are begging for a brilliant Christmas book. It has to be well enough known that we’re likely to have ample copies around our 30+ libraries. Hit me up!

Ran 4 book groups this week. 9-11 year olds loved Wolf Brother and Read, Scream, Repeat. Teens loved Five Survive & HappyHead. Nearly all top scores.
