🧵1/ Today I finished the 1st draft of my 1st novel based on the true story of my great uncle in WW1. Will it get published? Or remain only as a family story forever?

I see this misconception over and over:

"Const. promises due process for 'citizens' and not everyone."

Here's the 5th Amendment. Many times elsewhere in the Const. the framers specified something applied only to "citizens."

See if that's the case for due proc:
53 yr-old-vet. 1st protest ever. Nothing but American flags and patriots. Don't believe the lies My sign states simple facts. Trump wants to end them.

He illegally denies due process to wartime allies.

If the Democrats had their way, DHMO would be allowed into every cities' drinking water systems in huge quantities.
This is the message I sent to my elected reps today. Will you join me?
OTD in 2009, my life changed forever. It did again OTD in 2021. If you want to support a veteran, ask me how spending a few minutes to send an email can help this veteran sleep at night. Learn how little it takes to join the fight to save our allies. You can.

The Trump administration admits in a report that Afghan allies face death under the Taliban. This reveals the lie behind their TPS removal justification and underscores the immorality of the Trump administration's systematic abandonment of our allies.

<<--This easily identifiable veteran went to federal court yesterday and left with questions:
Outside court, an Afghan interpreter said that he used to fear getting snagged by the Taliban. Now he fears it by ICE, even though he's here fully legally. Unfortunately, that's been happening. It's outrageous.

We SHOULD remember history, even the bad parts, in school, books, film, museums, battlefields, and cemeteries. We SHOULD NOT put those dedicated to the destruction of our union and the continuation of slavery with places of honor in our town squares.

Email this short primer we prepared to your elected reps. It succinctly shares the state of saving our wartime allies in terms everyone can understand. In my experience, many govt. officials are NOT familiar with these issues. Help us change that!

Novel path to publication update #10:
Words: 71,772 (up from 61,768 before revising)

Challenges this week:
1. How to split/expand a key chap into two?
2. Where to insert key info and a character much earlier in the book than they are now?

Been outlining to solve.
Novel path to publication update #9:

WritGrp finished my book!

Good: The ending worked well for all! Was worried about it. "Very satisfying" is what one said.

Bad (really still good): They had many excellent suggestions for the book. Still have a LOT of work to finish!
I'll add that every American should care about this. If you want our troops to find locals willing to help them, vs. hurt them, in the next war, we MUST take care of our current allies.
It's true. They risked everything for us. I carried wounded Afghan allies after an attack on our base which killed seven and wounded over 90. The very next day, those Afghans who escaped injury were back at our base working. Only vocal public opposition has the hope of ending this betrayal.
Absolutely on target.
Today the Trump administration ended Temporary Protected Status for Afghans, saying Afghanistan is now a safe place to return to. This is untrue, & it's a total betrayal of our allies -- especially for women & girls, who have been stripped of their rights under the Taliban. #AfghanEvac
Trump admin ended today TPS protections for Afghans, claiming, laughably, that Afg better now while ignoring the fact of Taliban retribution. Latest in the shameful betrayal of our allies. It could turn around if enough of the public got involved against it. Ask me how.
I will keep speaking out for those who stood by us in battle with every megaphone I can get my hands on. But I need you to stand with me! Don't make me stand alone! Don't tell me you support veterans, show me!

Amber is right. Political parties are free to choose their candidates in any method they choose. That has nothing to do with the legislature and the courts handing the executive unchecked power while the public cheered. That's what happened to the Weimar republic. That's the danger here.

The Founders literally never shut up about tyrants and how it was our responsibility, as their Posterity, to maintain CONSTANT VIGILANCE because in every generation new tyrants get born and try to steal our country. It was their main thing! They would be so disappointed with us.
Our founders were so opposed to unchecked executive power that they risked everything to replace it with a republic with three self-checking branches.

Will we keep it? Or will we go the Weimar way and thus, predictably, self-destruct?

I have never been in more doubt.
