Not sure if I can recommend this or not. A first contact story told by the sole survivor of a Church's mission to another planet. Often sterile in descriptions and washed of anything explicit. I could see this featured in a religious bookstore. #booksky 💙📚🪐

Book 46: The Butcher Boy by Patrick McCabe is a descent into madness by way of obsession. If the wasp factory was written by Cormac McCarthy. Like Child of God but in Ireland and mixed with a coming of age like tale. Truly disturbing. Highly recommend.

I just finished katabasis. Let me tell you, I fell asleep 90 pages from the end. A 3.0 rating is the most generous one I've given in a while. I hate when authors over explain and at nearly 600 pages I feel like I read this book twice. Also the devil waves goodbye 😂😂😂 I'm serious. #booksky 💙📚💫
