This has been going on for well over a decade now
Saw an excellent point made that recent politics has gone into perpetual "campaign mode", rather than actually entering "governing mode" following an election (and of course campaigning and governing are two very different things). I think about that a lot.

Several hundred men lost their lives late September 1645 when Royalist troops clashed with Parliamentarians. The battle-site was outside the royalist city of Chester, which eventually fell to the parliamentarians in Feb 1646.
