I often wake up with a clever thought, write it down and go back to sleep. Last night’s:

They’re only magic mushrooms if they’re grown in a magic forest. Otherwise they’re just sparkling fungi. ✨🍄‍🟫

Just got back from my annual solo camping trip and this might have been the best one yet!

🖌️ I let my creativity flow... writing and making art.
💪 I feel powerful... building fires, being in the woods alone at night.
😴 I get true rest... taking naps, relaxing in the sun.

Nothing heals like nature 💚

I made this graphic for the article I published in Forbes about companies pulling back from their performative Pride displays.

These are just 10 of the 100s of companies that stopped waving rainbows & sponsoring Pride events when political pressure scared them off.

The only thing more disappointing that performative allyship is rescinded performative allyship. Sadly, that's what we're seeing this Pride Month, as corporate brands that once touted support for the LGBTQ+ community are backing down.

I wrote about it in @forbes.com

Pride Month 2025 Exposes The Limits Of Corporate Allyship
Many companies that used to celebrate Pride Month with rainbow avatars, influencer campaigns and public declarations of support for the LGBTQ+ community have gone silent in 2025.

Agree… young gen-X-er here to claim my SATC and JNCOs 🙋🏻‍♀️
Sorry, as a mid-millennial born in the Year of Our Lord Taylor Swift (1989), I must correct the record. Sex and the City is not a "millennial" thing, it's a Gen X show. Like Gen Zers, I watched it in reruns on HBO. When the kids get into Lizzie McGuire, we can talk. www.nytimes.com/2025/06/06/a...

Something that's been heavy on my mind: most of the folks that have lost jobs due to AI-driven efficiencies and have been out there trying to find similar roles... aren't going to find them.

I wrote about this + possible pivots in my latest @forbes.com article.

Jobs Lost To AI Won’t Return, Here’s How To Find Your Next Career Move
The standard job-search advice—network more, polish your résumé, apply widely—assumes the jobs you’re seeking still exist in meaningful numbers. What happens when they don't?

I just asked my kid to fill my wine glass, and he filled it with half rosé and half chicken broth, and two things:

1. I’m pretty sure this is some kind of metaphor for motherhood

2. I’m starting a new high-protein wine business – ripe berries with a poultry finish – and it’s going to kill it!

When the world is in flames… make art. It’s fine.

I’ll be showing this piece in the Basecamp Studios Itty Bitty art show, where all the art is <6”. Opening tomorrow night at the Belltown art walk… come by if you’re in Seattle!

My friend, Forbes columnist, and all-around inspiring person, @rebekah.bsky.social, has written a piece on the implications of a planetary brain as described in #GaiaWakes on professional leadership and workplace culture. What a fun interview to respond to!

What does leadership look like in a future that is driven by (not just assisted by) AI?

I talked with the author of upcoming book Gaia Wakes, @tophermcd.bsky.social, about how today’s leaders can prepare for this future in my latest @forbes.com piece.

Seattle friends, are you around Saturday night?

As part of the Ballard Art Walk, my husband's vintage furniture gallery, Sparklebarn, is throwing an opening party for a new collection of food-themed art. I made a couple of pieces that are included in it too 🍔🍝

You should come by!

I've been thinking (and feeling) a lot about the impacts that AI is having on our jobs.

As a tech exec, I'm blown away by the power of AI in my and my teams' work.

As an artist & writer, I worry about how our work is seen and valued.

I wrote about this in Forbes: www.forbes.com/sites/rebeka...
Addressing The Tension Between Corporate Efficiency And Creative Integrity In AI
As AI transforms industries, a divide is emerging between those excited by and profiting from these changes and those threatened by them.

Seattle friends, you should come to this art opening at Sparklebarn during the Ballard Art Walk next Saturday the 12th.

I have a piece being shown in it, and there will be rad art and music all around!
