The answer to this is a unified government to establish statehood, but those who have abused their power and failed to protect their people, and in many cases, have inflicted harm upon their own people, cannot be the ones to lead the country. It is true for Hamas, and it is true for the PNA.

So many say free Palestine from Hamas, and that a Palestinian state cannot be established with them in power. Per their own manifesto, they agree. But in my view, there also cannot be a Palestinian state with Mahmoud Abbas at the head of the table. The Palestinian Authority cannot be in power.
