It would be nice if Bluesky let you actually zoom in when viewing images on desktop. The UX is genuinely ass for vertical pics.

People are changing their profile pics to Clippy as a statement against AI's encroachment into every aspect of our lives... so it's only ironic that all the Clippy revival projects I could find are basically a frontend for ChatGPT. Way to completely misunderstand the assignment.

"Longer than ever" seems to be conveniently ignoring that there once used to be a time where devices were actually built to last as close to forever as possible.
For some reason, I had a dream last night of seeing this exact pair out in the wild. Been a while since I've had my dreams influenced this immediately.

You know, I've always wondered why bat anthros tend to be drawn with those pointy-at-the-top noses (like a mix between a nose and a rhino's horn). 'cause I'm looking at pictures of actual bats right now, and they all have regular snouts with no pointy bits.

Once again in a "rearranging my room" mood. I managed to free up a shelf and make considerable amount of space in one of my drawers, but now I'm seriously considering ordering a waist-height bookshelf to put up next to my wardrobe. I just can't think of what I'd even put in there...

Fuck, I just realized that's the entire premise of Liar Liar, too. Fletcher is depicted as a habitual liar, and he wins a court case for a woman who turns out to be a gold digger who uses her own kids to squeeze even more money out of her ex-husband.
Fun fact: this is explicitly why Dick Wolf created Law & Order: he violently hates defense attorneys and felt tere weren't enough shows about how defendants and their lawyers are scum

Originally wanted to do something with foreign languages. Took Japanese studies in university while teaching myself how to code. Switched to compsci, but eventually dropped out, then landed a job as a web developer two years later.

This one's had a much longer run than my previous ones, but it looks like it may be time for a new mouse again. Clicking the mouse wheel has gotten extremely unresponsive. Not sure if it's a mechanical failure, a buildup of gunk underneath the wheel, or both.

I really don't envy my mom for having technical difficulties with all those Bejeweled clones she's playing. This is the second time she's been unable to sync them with her Facebook account.

Well, looks like I've hit a snag with my attempted Linux adoption. Linux Mint doesn't play nice with my GPU (AMD Radeon RX550) at all, resulting in nothing but a garbled screen unless I boot it in compatibility mode.

You know, I'm starting to realize I... actually kinda miss Clippy. As well as the dog and those other assistants from Windows XP's search function.
Classic Windows used to have so much personality, but by now it's been hit by the same sterilization as everything else in modern tech and design.
