A huff escaped, raising her head again to show teary eyes. Those years weren't stopping right away. How could they when she felt an overwhelming amount of joy at his sudden return?

For now, stories of the years which went by could wait. Her body relaxed into his warm embrace, face hidden against material and soaking up the tears. Her own arms moved, loosening her hand on his arm to embrace him tightly - though painlessly.

He'd missed so much in that time - and now, he was back. She'd definitely have to fill him in!

Though, given her eyes still carried the mako glow of a SOLDIER, he'd likely understand she at least somewhat fulfilled her dream.

Raika had indeed grown slightly since the last time the two saw eachother. It had been over seven years by now— She'd merely been 15, a rookie infantry troop, when he left on a mission with Sephiroth, never to return.

"Hey, now..." Stepping forward, Zack reached out, wrapping his arms around her smaller frame and pulled Raika into a warm embrace.

She may have gotten taller since he saw her last, but she was still Raika.

But it still eluded her as to how it was possible! Especially after learning from Cloud what truly happened to the raven-haired male all those years ago!

The outburst was to be expected, voice shaky as her face was warmed by the tears rolling down her cheeks. A hand outstretched towards Zack, shakily gripping onto his arm.

He's warm - definitely not a corpse or ghost.

If anything, seeing him, as perplexing as it was, made her feel relieved.

Finally, tense digits released the door, opening it wider and stepping closer to gaze up at him. Even now, he still towered over her by about a foot.

As the familiar voice she'd never forgotten reached her ears, tears began to blur her vision, obstructing the view of the former SOLDIER and causing them to sting.

Thankfully, she wasn't going to faint. Or even be mad for that matter!

As Raika stared at the figure before her, knuckles were starting to turn white from the grip on the poor door. Her mind raced with an insane number of thoughts, not understanding how Zack Fair happened to be at her doorstep.

Surely she isn't hallucinating, right?

Sitting on her own, quietly counting the gil she had in her purse. It's not much, but it should be enough for a couple more days if she doesn't waste it.

A knock at her door was the last thing she'd expected. Once in a while she did have a visitor or two — usually her friends she'd made after her sector's downfall checking in on her. Or even a client wanting her to help do some odd jobs.

But otherwise? Life was quiet.

A yawn escapes her lips, exhausted after a long day of trying to locate a certain group and seek out answers.

Every time she had leads, she'd feel as if they're one step ahead — even if the group didn't know she was even searching for them.
