Viktor is Viktor and Jayce is Jayce. Except for where theyโ€™re smeared over: a heartbeat that Viktor canโ€™t assign ownership to, body heat that knows no distinction.

He returns the thermos to Jayce when he holds a seeking hand out for it. Jayce turns the thermos in his grip to make sure his next sip covers the same spot where Viktorโ€™s lips touched. โ€œWould you like me to make dinner for us?โ€ โ€œThat would be great,โ€ Jayce says, disregarding the excited flush searing across the back of his neck. Might just be the coffee warming him upโ€ฆ. โ€œCould we do it at your place?โ€ โ€œI thought you were only going home or to the lab,โ€ Viktor says, a smile plucking at the corner of his mouth. โ€œYeah,โ€ Jayce confirms, not seeing his point. He fills his mouth with more coffee and his heart brims with happiness just from being home. Viktorโ€™s palm comes to rest at the small of Jayceโ€™s back, gentle as anything and still sending an electric frisson of delight along Jayceโ€™s spine. there is *so* much plot. ๐Ÿ˜Œ it's got political intrigue woven in with the personal relationship stakes and the romcom premise of "and they were both yearning idiots in love." The plot is the true substance of the fic; I definitely recommend if you're looking for a strong story. ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ–ค
