Verizon’s business decisions are heavily driven by profit, regulatory positioning, and acquisition strategy (e.g. ending DEI to win regulatory approval). If you are a socialist this should shock and horrify you.

@millie29.bsky.social Verizon is a large, capital-intensive monopoly / oligopoly player in telecommunications and internet infrastructure. Its business is deeply enmeshed in capitalist accumulation, rent extraction (control over spectrum, last-mile networks, subscriber base).

Not to mention the infrastructure of telecom + data is often integrated with law enforcement, predictive policing, or other control systems. This should be very relevant if you are really concerned with over-policing of Black communities.
