I still have copies of The Barre Incidents at my house before I run out. After that, it'll be filled with @malarkeybooks.bsky.social stock. These last five will get signed, get a bookmark, and the spinach pie recipe. Sharing my blurbs again from two very cool people to hopefully encourage ya.
"Bolger excels at weaving familial relationships, trauma, and existential dread with the kinds of creatures that will haunt your dreams."

-Michael Bettendorf, author of Trve Cvlt

The Barre Incidents
Out October 2025 "Lauren Bolger's The Barre Incidents is a thrilling mystery about family, love and grief blended with a deep dive into world mythology. The book delightfully interweaves the voices of friendly residents of a small town alongside ancient and otherworldly voices. A strange and thrilling tale!"

Coming this November!

Cerulean Sky is a story about absolution set in an America that’s been ravaged by a disease that turns people incorporeal.

It’s my love letter to The Stand!

Some of my favorite people on our miserable little planet are gonna be there. Go hang out. Go be weird (weird, not creepy). Go be kind. Have a fucking blast and lean into the void 💀💜🤘

For tonight I’ve chosen to read a passage that includes a lot of dialog from an older, blue collar gentleman. This is going to go really great. Nothing at all can go wrong

I keep reading “color temperature” in this LED light fixture copy I’m working on and having Homer Simpson’s voice pop in my head and say “core tem-per-ature: Normal.” from the ep where he’s working from home

Of course I'll recommend @eveninghouse.bsky.social, the fledgling bookstore my partner and I run, with our beautiful website and great selection of high-quality literature, focusing on small presses, books in translation and bangers new and old (which ship anywhere in the US:)

I feel bad for judging looks too but idk. They just un-weirdified or un-damaged the characters or put a glossy sheen over a lot of things that made the books so incredible. They were so imperfect and you loved them too and it was hard to watch them mess up and hurt
renbolger.bsky.social
Like, the dad is huge in the book! Big square shoulders. Square chin. Awful haircut. Dark orange hair. And they cast what looks like a beautiful boxer brief model to play him with medium long brown hair
renbolger.bsky.social
The cast of Locke & Key looks too normal, like they were casting a Lifetime movie instead of a gritty creepy dark quirky magical great series with larger than life characters

Man he coulda fertilized those flowers for ya, if ya know what I mean just kidding
