Too many of our neighbors are being forced to choose between heat, food, or rent. I’m calling on Congress to fund LIHEAP and end the shutdown so families can stay safe and warm this winter.

While we’ve certainly made progress, our work isn’t done, and we must continue the fight to prevent maternal deaths.

The combination of losing LIHEAP and SNAP at this time of year is a worst-case scenario. People should not have to choose between food on the table and keeping their home habitable.

This investment by PHFA into our neighborhood infrastructure will help build and restore affordable rental housing and multifamily units for the stability & peace of mind of West Philadelphia’s working families & seniors that are the heart of our neighborhoods.

Transit is personal. It's personal to me, it's personal to my colleagues, it's personal to Pennsylvanians. It's about mobility; it's about opportunity. The fight is not over for SEPTA—we must find a stable, recurring funding mechanism to #SaveMassTransit for ALL Pennsylvanians.

The suspension of WOAR services is devastating. This #PaBudget impasse that continues due to the indifference of the #PaSenate toward our city is unacceptable & we call on them to get serious about real solutions to improve the quality of life in Philly & across PA.

Thankful today that the #PaHouse Judiciary Committee approved several bills that would increase public safety and reduce the threat of gun violence in our communities across PA, including my bill to regulate 3D printed guns.

Commonsense regulations for 3D printed firearms is key to 21st Century public safety. These guns are untraceable and undetectable, and can too easily fall into the hands of bad actors. I'm glad the #PaHouse Judiciary Committee approved my bill today.
I hope to see you at my Fall Town Hall Meeting beginning at 6 p.m. on Wednesday. I'll have legislative updates, community info from local organizations, plus the PA Dept. of Human Services will discuss changes that might affect your healthcare and more. You'll have an opportunity for Q&A, as well!
The program has officially launched! If you know someone who can use a ride, please share this information! Thank you to Uber, ACHIEVEability, and Ogontz Avenue Revitalization Corporation (OARC) for standing in the gap when our communities are most in need!
A properly funded and operating mass transit system, like @SEPTA, effectively and efficiently moves thousands of people every day, and it’s beyond time for Senate Republicans to return to the negotiating table to finish the state budget and properly fund mass transit across Pennsylvania.
Service cuts to mass transit in Philadelphia and across the commonwealth have real-world consequences for Pennsylvanians who can't make it to school, work, or doctor’s appointments.

I'm happy to share that SEPTA and the City announced tonight that service will be restored to Bus Route 31 between Overbrook Park and 63rd & Market, along with several other bus routes across the city, to help students get to school and back home safely and on-time. Watch for more details soon.
My office will be closed on Friday, Aug. 29 & Monday, Sept. 1 for Labor Day. We’ll reopen on Tuesday AM, Sept. 2, to serve you.
I hope that you’re able to spend time with loved ones and honor those who fought for the worker’s rights and improved working conditions that we still benefit from today.
I'm proud to develop this partnership with Uber, ACHIEVEability, and Ogontz Avenue Revitalization Corporation that will support our older Philadelphians and allow them to maintain their mobility, dignity, and quality of life through this transit crisis.
