JUST IN: Nearly 2 months after her election, Adelita Grijalva still hasn’t been seated. Chair @repespaillat.bsky.social again calls on Speaker Johnson to act immediately, sending a letter earlier this morning demanding her swearing-in.

In yesterday’s elections, the American people made clear that they are sick of the Republican agenda that is keeping the government shut down and jacking up costs for health care and everything else.

(1/2) It’s unconscionable that Donald Trump is focused on tearing down the White House as health care tax credits will expire for 22 million Americans, bailing out Argentina for $40 billion while farmers in America face bankruptcy,

Same message, different day.

Americans know Republicans are responsible for the shutdown.

Break the cycle, bring the House back, and negotiate a way to open the government without ripping affordable healthcare away from millions of American families.

Thank you Governor Hochul for recognizing Hispanic Heritage Month and the impact of Latino communities to our state.

I look forward to continuing our fight to ensure protections and opportunities for all who call New York home.

Democrats are holding the line.

We remain willing to meet anywhere and anytime to negotiate a bipartisan government funding agreement that meets the needs of the American people and addresses the health care crisis. Until then, Republicans own every day of this shutdown.
October 8, 2025 at 8:42 PM
This is the GOP plan: kick Americans off of their healthcare plans, raise premiums, and threaten public servants for being public servants.

Healthcare and mortgages don’t care about government shutdowns, and apparently neither do House Republicans (otherwise they’d be in DC).

How much do you want to bet they’re pushing it off because she’ll be the 218th signature on the Epstein files discharge petition?
Rep.-elect Adelita Grijalva was duly elected by the people of Arizona's 7th district 9 days ago. She still hasn't been sworn in. What's the holdup, Mike?

The Trump administration is making the most brazen attack on working-class New Yorkers and neighbors in Harlem by targeting the Second Avenue Subway funding.

Trump Administration to Withhold $18 Billion for N.Y.C. Transit Projects
Funds for two of the nation’s largest infrastructure projects, the Second Avenue subway and Hudson River commuter tunnels, is being held up over President Trump’s order to investigate D.E.I. programs.

The White House’s decision to threaten the Gateway Project and Second Avenue Subway, our nation’s most critical infrastructure projects, is another exhibit of the reckless partisanship and bad governance that triggered this Republican government shutdown.

Families across my district will be adversely affected by the existing Republican plan for funding the government.

I have and am prepared to continue to vote “no” on any legislation that fails to restore the funding for healthcare coverage in my district.
September 29, 2025 at 6:23 PM
With just a day left before the government funding deadline, Democrats are ready, willing, and able to reach a bipartisan agreement to keep the government open while lowering health care costs for everyday Americans, including the nearly 12,000 constituents in my district.
