President Trump is once again acting like a king. He just overthrew the Venezuelan government, dragging us into yet another foreign intervention without Congress’s approval. Republicans need to grow a spine and join us in demanding oversight and checking this imperial president.

Of course, he made his mark in the entertainment industry playing the liberal son-in-law foil to Archie Bunker and later becoming an influential writer, director, and producer. But he was more than that. When I was a teacher, I personally saw his expansive humanity and philanthropy touch the lives of LGBTQI+ youth. He also financially supported the litigation that brought about the U.S. Supreme Court Marriage Equality decision. The tragic loss of Rob and his wife, Michele, has left so many Americans reeling in grief. My heartfelt condolences to the Reiner family and to all who regarded them as kindred spirits." Rep. Rep. MTG just announced that her bill to JAIL parents & doctors who help young trans people access care will be brought up for a vote next week—instead of anything meaningful to avert the healthcare crisis the GOP created.

We're going to do everything we can to defeat this bill.

I joined @mcbride.house.gov and @repmarktakano.bsky.social in a letter to Speaker Johnson condemning the rise in anti-transgender rhetoric and urging him to uphold the rules of decorum as Members engage in debate. There is no place for the use of slurs or harmful rhetoric in the People's House.

During the GOP shutdown, Secretary Collins REMOVED a PACT Act presumptive for male breast cancer—stripping some veterans of their earned benefits. Ranking Member @repmarktakano.bsky.social will not let this go unchecked. Our veterans deserve better.

I will vote NO on the Senate’s so-called “deal.” It does nothing to fix the GOP’s healthcare crisis that’s sending costs skyrocketing. Democrats should not reward Republicans for their cruelty or their failure to govern.
