Representing the People of PA’s 12th Congressional District. PA’s first Black US Congresswoman. Breaking cement ceilings. She/her.

Committees: Oversight & Government Reform and Education & Workforce.
The real divide right now is between the working class and the oligarchy that would rather exploit us for profit than make sure folks get the resources they need.

We must stay focused and united.

Solidarity is the most powerful tool we have in the face of authoritarianism.

It's on all of us to stand with each other, stand up for each other, and refuse to accept the fear and division the White House is trying to exploit and use against us.

So grateful to join The People's Hearing in Pittsburgh led by the People's Environmental Justice Advisory Council to share testimony and hear from community members about the environmental harms we face and solutions led by the people.

I'm committed to bringing your priorities to Congress.

It's hypocritical that Republicans are holding hearings about strengthening students' skills while they allow the Trump admin to dismantle the Dept. of Education—the sole agency tasked with expanding these same students' opportunities.

And it's always marginalized students who suffer the most.

The Department of Justice has dropped a number of criminal charges against corporations that are Trump donors.

I demanded answers from the DOJ on this failure and potential corruption. No one is above the law, regardless of how many resources or how much money they have.

No good has come from attacking any marginalized community.

This Trans Day of Remembrance, we honor our trans siblings and loved ones lost to violence and bigotry. We stand with you and will keep fighting for you.

Today, Education and Workforce Committee Republicans are moving forward with anti-worker bills with deceptive names that would give more handouts to corporations and embolden companies to exploit underpaid employees.

I will be voting against advancing them all. Our people deserve better.

Political violence is on the rise and the president is calling for the death of Members of Congress.

This is the same person who has already incited a violent insurrection on the Capitol because of his rhetoric and lies. We cannot accept or normalize this.

Workers deserve protection from coercive employment practices that trap them in jobs & force them into debt so corporations can line their pockets.

@markey.senate.gov and I wrote to multiple federal agencies to demand answers on what they're doing to protect workers & combat stay-or-pay agreements.

Pittsburgh, I'm joining an important convening of community changemakers where we'll share testimony on environmental and economic threats, engage with national leaders to build powerful policies, and secure a cleaner, healthier, more vibrant future for our region.

America is watching. Now release the files.
#BREAKING: President Trump signed the Epstein Files Transparency Act into law, officially directing the Department of Justice to release all unclassified records and documents connected to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

After a record-breaking government shutdown that they caused, Trump & Republicans want to spend time micromanaging DC instead of representing their constituents.

If Trump wanted to run DC, he should resign & run for mayor.

I testified in the House Rules Committee to make it clear: hands off DC.

Corruption. Human rights abuses. Butchering an American journalist.

There are so many things wrong with inviting MBS to the White House, let alone selling him weapons and throwing parties. Looks like the billions invested from Saudi’s Public Investment Fund into the Trumps bought them a president.
Trump defends Saudi crown prince over Khashoggi killing
The de facto ruler of Saudi Arabia was branded a pariah in 2018 after the killing of a Washington Post columnist. Now, U.S.-Saudi relations are nearing a high point.

Today’s passage of the Epstein Files Transparency Act puts every Representative on record and brings us one step further to providing justice and transparency for the survivors and the American people. It is a testament to the power of the people who pressured their government to take action. 🧵

Secretary McMahon admitted herself that only Congress could dismantle the department. The admin knows this will devastate students and teachers, but they don't care.

Trump has the power to release the files, today.

Ranking Members @robertgarcia.house.gov and @repsummerlee.bsky.social say release the files, NOW.

Students experiencing homelessness and students in the foster system deserve the support, resources, and care that the Department of Education is supposed to provide 👇

Here's your reminder that:

➡️ Trump's DOJ is *already* compelled to release the full, unredacted Epstein files after my motion to subpoena passed in July
➡️ They are out of compliance for slow-walking the legally binding subpoena (1/2)

Democrats have to seriously consider whether we are going to answer more to corporations or to people—and the the answer should always be the people.

Proud to join Pittsburgh Water's groundbreaking of the new ABC project & celebrate the $193 million federal investment.

When we invest in water, we invest in the health & safety of our neighbors & communities. This is an important step in making sure folks have equitable access to clean water.

@sbworkersunited.org and Starbucks workers here in Pittsburgh and across the country are demonstrating tremendous courage by taking action and demanding fair pay.

The power of the people will always be greater than the people in power—I'm proud to join you in saying no contract, no coffee.

Our young people are our future, & they deserve a voice in the world we're building.

Thank you to @nextgenamerica.bsky.social and BridgePittsburgh for hosting this important convening, & most importantly thank you to the students for your thoughtful engagement. You make me hopeful for our future.

Survivors of Epstein's abuse are going up against some of the most powerful institutions and people. It's dangerous, so we cannot drop the ball here. For them and for other survivors of abuse and sex trafficking.

We must continue to fight as hard as we can for justice.
