Trump and his admin are once again illegally firing federal workers. Real people are being harmed as a result of Trump's totalitarian takeover and Republicans' refusal to end this shutdown.

This is an authoritarian abuse of power.

We owe it to every Palestinian killed, every home and hospital destroyed, to demand accountability for the war crimes committed, and we must keep pushing for an end to the occupation.

A ceasefire in Gaza is a critical step to ending the genocide, surging aid, and reuniting Palestinian and Israeli families. As we continue to work for true, just, and lasting peace, this deal must hold.

We are well into the Republican-manufactured government shutdown, and I know this is an uncertain and scary time for folks.

I'm hosting a telephone town hall on Thursday, Oct. 16 to answer your questions and discuss what the shutdown means for you. Join us!

This is authoritarianism, plain and simple.

Trump is weaponizing the DOJ to attack AG James for doing her job and holding him to account. Using the federal government for his revenge tour is wrong and dangerous.

Letitia James pursued Trump. Then she was indicted.
The Democratic New York attorney general made her investigation of the Republican president a centerpiece of her campaign.

We will not allow ICE to operate in the shadows while they surveil us and violate our rights.

Our responsibility is to protect civil liberties, not surrender them. @repshontelbrown.bsky.social, @repyassansari.bsky.social and I are demanding answers about their use of spyware against US citizens.

The folks who work at the municipal level exemplify commitment to our communities.

I was glad to join Western PA's local leaders at the CONNECT Legislative Briefing to discuss how Trump's devastating budget proposal will strip healthcare from Pennsylvanians, and how we can fight it at every turn.

This is the wealthiest nation on Earth––we can give jobs, healthcare, and housing to everyone who needs it but we don't because rich donors and corporations don't want to.

Our communities are not bargaining chips, and we will not be divided.

Trump and his admin are trying to turn us against each other so they can continue invading our homes, tying up kids, and kidnapping families in pursuit of their authoritarian takeover.

Scarcity mindset is a fear tactic.

It was great to join Landforce last week to celebrate the opening of their new Responsible Wood Production Facility.

This new facility is such an important step towards making Pittsburgh’s future more just, equitable and green.

We are in Day 6 of the Republican-manufactured shutdown. What questions do you have?

Because of Republicans' manufactured healthcare crisis, some Pennsylvanians will pay more for their insurance than their mortgage. Their cruelty doesn't stop.

You deserve healthcare that's affordable and accessible, and that's exactly what we're fighting for.
Gold and white text on a black background reads "My health insurance will cost more than my mortgage. Republicans’ manufactured healthcare crisis will hurt countless Pennsylvanians. Here are some of their stories."
Gold and white text on a black background reads "Because of Republicans’ massive cuts to your healthcare, Pennsylvanians won’t be able to afford insurance." In a white quote box gold and white text reads "When my sister-in-law and I were on ACA, she paid $150 a month for insurance because her income was low. I paid $800 a month for the same insurance. Right now, as of October 1st, my sister-in-law would not be able to afford health insurance." The quote is from Diane from Pittsburgh. Gold and white text on a black background reads "Because of Republicans’ massive cuts to your healthcare, health insurance costs will skyrocket." Below in a white quotation box is a quote from Kimberly from Swissvale that reads "I’m facing at least a $400 a month increase, maybe more. It will be life changing." Gold and white text on a black background reads "Because of Republicans’ massive cuts to your healthcare, people are at risk of going into medical debt." Below is a white quote box with a quote from Kimberly from Pittsburgh that reads "I rely on Pennie until I can get Medicare. Without subsidies, my insurance will go up $766 per month. This is larger than my mortgage. The subsidies are crucial to me personally in affording basic health coverage. My medical expenses are low but I can’t risk losing all I’ve worked for due to an unforeseen medical emergency."

We know that what we do right now has real impacts on real people, so I want to hear from you––what does healthcare in this country mean to you? Why is it so important that we fight right now?
repsummerlee.bsky.social
Right now, the unemployment rate is 4.3%, but for Black women it's a staggering 6.7%. Over 320,000 Black women have lost their jobs from the federal govt to the private sector.

This systematic targeting of Black women is intentional. It's devastating for our communities, economy, and our country.

While Trump and Republicans are spinning lies to fit their narrative, we're fighting to make sure you can go to the doctor without going into debt.

Here's the real truth about what's going on with this government shutdown.

I'm wishing all of our Jewish neighbors and community in Pennsylvania and across the country an easy fast as they observe Yom Kippur.

May this be a time of reflection for you and your loved ones.

A government shutdown is just hours away and, unlike Republicans, I'm here in DC fighting for the people.

We can and should pass a bill that keeps the government open and doesn't force working people to choose between paying rent and going to the doctor.

Republicans would rather shut down the government than extend healthcare tax credits for working families across the country.

Thousands of people in PA-12 rely on these tax credits to keep their insurance more affordable. Now they could see a spike in costs.

I applaud the news that critical bus services at The Waterfront will continue. This reversal shows the power of our community coming together to demand accessible, reliable public transit.
