It's objectively strange that Chrono Trigger is the name of a JRPG series about time travellers dealing with a crisis, and Time Crisis a series of light gun games.

In Grand Theft Auto 3, with the tank you could blast backwards to propel yourself at incredible speeds. This unintended consequence was a joyful discover we would share and exploit.

Today this would be instantly patched. For single player games, perhaps unnecessarily, as it’s part of the fun.

So yeah can’t we build something mechanical that literally severs the connection so that we, as humans, only have to press a button to kick off the process? Just too expensive?

I guess my question is, why can't we just have a button that does all this? I.e. you press the button, and internally it severs the connection (so you aren't unplugging anything) and then, after 5 magical minutes, it reconnects itself.

I’ve been out for 6 years after 8 years of training. My final injury requires 3 wrist surgeries and my hand is still not quite the same. After rehab I continued to pause as my son was born, and it felt too risky.

But… I’m about to start training again.

I looked up that this stage requires you to press a little before the prompts and now I suddenly beat it.

Is this stage bugged or am I suddenly terrible?

A Kane fire entrance would also work well here.

In the year 2025, how is the solution still β€œunplug it for 5 minutes and then plug it back in.”
