Display of cover and a couple of panels from This Corrosion, a graphic medicine piece I did as part of a project with Graphic Medicine Resource Lab, a project of the University of Kentucky's Human Development Institute. Cover shows a very basic hospital illustration. Panel 1 shows a confused receptionist and a person named Square whose presenting problem is "corroded battery feeling." Panel 2 shows Square practicing a speech in a mirror. They have written a book called Bypassing Bias. The speech notes read, "At the time, I didn't know much about autism. I didn't realize that I was autistic." This comic is an attempt to illustrate a few things about autistic communication for medical professionals.

I take notes in meetings. Otherwise I forget. Here's an assortment of oddballs, all eyes on the opposite of what you really said. Most everything is orange or yellow. The coffee is served in shotglasses and servers are taking away the nearly untouched cheese and fruit long before the meeting is over. Why are you still sitting here? There are pages more of notes to be taken.
